Walleye Fishing In North Georgia

The North Georgia Walleye spawn is over. Most of the fish seem to be hanging just inside the mouths of the creeks and on long points adjacent to the main tributaries. We have had our best success this past week trolling stick baits ( Spro McSticks Blue Back colors) 70 to 80 ft out 2.5 mph.  A few bigger fish have been caught on crawler harnesses 50 to 80 ft behind the boat 1.8mph. Speed is the key when trolling a crawler harness. If you go too fast the fish will not chase the bait. If you go too slow the blades on the harness will not spin. We have been catching a few nice Trout on these while Walleye fishing.
