Bass
The Bass bite continues to be great! We have caught some really nice Large Mouth over the last few weeks. These fish seem to be mid way back in the creeks holding close to structure. Try using a Sebile swim bait over the top of this structure before working in close with a jig. Try finding the Yellow Perch and the Bass will be near by. This pattern should continue for the next few weeks. The pre-fall topwater bite should be kicking off soon!

Hybrid Bass
The Hybrid bite has been on fire the last few weeks. These fish are off of main lak points in 30 to 40 ft of water. We have had good success using a downline rigged with a Blue Back Herring.

Trout
The Brown trout bite has been steady. These fish have been spread throughout the lake the last few weeks. Trying to get in a school hasn’t been easy. We have had out better success trolling the main lake channels trying to stay in a 60ft bottom. Try using large Johnson Spoons and Loco Spoons. Maintaining a good speed of 3mph seems to be the ticket. This bite should pick up over the next few weeks with some Larger fish showing up to Spawn soon!

Lake Chatuge Fishing

The Bass bite has been great this summer. We have caught bass shallow and deep. Most of our fish have come off a drop shot rig. We have caught some bigger fish on top water when we see them come up top. This bite should continue for the next few weeks. North Georgia Bass fishing is a blast!

Hybrid Bass
Lake Chatuge has to be one of the best Hybrid Bass lakes in the south. This bite has been unreal. We have been catching some fish with some size this year. It’s not uncommon to catch 20 to 40 fish in a Guided trip. Hats off to the Georgia DNR. We have had the most sucess downlining Herring over a 40 to 65ft bottom. Hughes Bait & Tackle in Blairsville GA is the best place to get bait!

Lake Lanier Fishing

The Striper bite has been unreal lately. We have caught some really nice fish in the south end of Lake Lanier. Water temps seem to be holding in the upper 80’s. Downlining Blueback Herring has been most productive in a depth of 50 to 80 ft. This bite should continue to be good for the next few weeks.

Bass
The bass bite has been awesome the last couple of weeks. We have caught most of our fish near the main lake channels on point and humps. The drop shot bite has really picked up. Try using a Robo Worm or a Zoom Fluke Jr. The key to finding these summertime bass is staying close to grass or structure. I pay close attention to my electronics when scanning for grass and fish. This bite should continue over the next few weeks with some top water action starting to happen early in the morning.
Trout
The trout bite has been a little tough lately. The few fish that we have caught have been deep. Try trolling small crank baits ( ugly duckling size 7) in and around the southern portions of the lake. The Brown Trout bite should pick up over the next couple of weeks. Look for these fish to start showing up in the 20 to 30 ft depths on long points.
Yellow Perch
The perch bite has been great lately. These fish are in every creek in the lake. We have had good success fishing the grass beds and clay bottoms in the 20ft depths. Jigging and crappie minnow seems to be producing the most numbers. We have also caught some 16in Yellow Perch on a drop shot rig tipped with a worm. This pattern should continue for the next month or two.

Lake Lanier Fishing

The Striped Bass bite has picked up. We are catching most of out fish down on the south end of Lake Lanier. These fish are anywhere from 55ft to 90ft deep. The spoon bite has also picked up for catching Striped Bass. We have had some good success Trolling Lead Core line with a Captive Mack Bucktail Jig.

Bass
The Spotted Bass bite has been great the last few weeks.
We have caught fish shallow and deep.
Most of the bigger fish have come off a drop shot over a 30ft bottom. We have been fishing main lake points and pockets that are connected to the main lake. There is no definitive time on the bite but the morning seems to be better. Look for most of the Bass to transition to a deeper summer pattern over the next few weeks.
Brown Trout
The Brown Trout bite has finally rebounded over the last week or so. These fish are congregated out over the main lake channel. We have caught most of out bigger fish trolling Lucky Craft Pointer 78’s in a Herring color. The best depth seems to be 22ft at 3 mph. We have also been catching some trout on a split shot night crawler suppended as if you were crappie fishing. Look for this bite to continue over the next several weeks.
Good Luck!

Lake Lanier Fishing

The Striped bass are hanging in the 40 to 50ft depths. These fish seem to be hanging close to timber. We have seen some really nice schools over the last few days. The baits seem to be living well on downlines.

Bass
The Spotted bass have set up on their summer pattern. Most of the bigger fiah are deep 20 to 30 ft. We have been catching some good fish of of the main lake points and humps throwing a super spin tipped with a white fluke. We have also caught some big Spots and Large Mouth in topwater in and around these same areas. A chrome Super Spook has been working best for these schooling bass. Look for the drop shot bite to pick up over the next few weeks in and around brush piles.

Brown Trout
The trout bite has been decent lately. We haven’t caught very many fish but the ones we have caught have been big. The trolling bite has really picked up and should continue over the next few weeks. We have been trolling in the 20ft depth range. Lucky Craft Pointer 68’s have been the go to bait lately. Try maintaining a speed of 2.5 mph when trolling. We have caught a few nice Yellow Perch while trolling for the Trout.
Yellow Perch
It’s that time of year when the Yellow Perch school up in big groups. This is a great time to catch a mess of these. They typically hang in the 15ft to 25ft depths in and around grass. Small spoons and jigs of any color work great. Locating the Perch on a fish finder in the key to scoring big on a school of fish. Where there is one Perch they’re are many more. This pattern should prove to be good for the next few weeks.

Good Luck!

Capt Mack’s Umbrellas

Capt Mack’s striped bass umbrella rigs are perfect for catching fish, both shallow and deep, especially when game fish are focused on bait fish schools. These rigs can be trolled super deep or very shallow giving you total coverage of the entire water column by using different weight rigs, weights, and jigs. These rigs also come with a depth chart explaining how to achieve different depths with your rigs by adjusting boat speed and distance behind the boat.

They are great for catching striped bass, hybrids, spotted bass and largemouth bass. They are highly effective in saltwater for Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, Redfish and more.

Thanks Mack These are Great
