Fishing Guide On Lake Burton

Lake Burton
Clear
Temp 50deg
The lake is 8 ft low

Trout
The Brown Trout have been biting good this month and should continue to for so for the next month or so. We have been catching 8 to 15 trout per trip with an occasional 6lber.  The top water trolling bite has proven best. We have been trolling Loco spoons (gold) and mini umbrella rigs (5 arm swarm rig with rapala countdowns). For best results troll 50 to 80 ft behind the boat at approximately 1.8mph.

Bass
The Spotted Bass have started their descent deep.  Try using a spoon (Kastmaster) or deep diving crank bait (Rapala X Rap). The spoons are working good early in the morning or on cloudy days. The crank baits have been producing mid-day to early evening. Today we had three fish over 5 lbs and one over 6lbs.
The large mouth are still a little shallow. Most of these fish are biting a weighted fluke (pearl) or a jig (heavy cover brown).

Walleye
The Walleye are hungry and have been feeding most if the day.  Try using a Blue-Back Herring with a weight and flurocarbon leader 6ft( 25 to 30 ft of water on main lake points). Be patient and let the fish eat the bait. This is the key to landing these fish. We have seen some good fish this week. This pattern should hold for the next 2 months.
