Brown Trout:
The Brown Trout fishing has been on fire the last couple of days. We are catching some really big fish. A few of the bigger fish have been tipping the scales at 8 lbs. Try trolling Shad Raps in bright colors at 80ft behind the boat. Trolling speed has not been a big issue lately. Most of these fish have moved out over the main lake channels or close by. A few smaller fish are still up in the creeks. This bite should continue to get better as the fish become more concentrated as we head towards late June.
Bass:
The Large Mouth and Spotted Bass bite has been the best I have seen in several years. We are catching between 30 and as many as 50 in a single fishing trip. Jerk baits and Crank baits have been the dominate baits with Spot Stickers tipped with Pumpkin Finesse worms working well! Most of the fish are sitting on a 16 to 20ft bottom in and around major lake points. The Pop R bite has been working well in the mornings for some really nice Large Mouth. Look for these fish to start feeding on top in the next few weeks. Keep a Sammy in herring color tied on for these surfacing bass.
Good luck!

Walleye:
The Walleye are biting in full force. Most of the fish are still up the river and creek channel’s. We have had good success trolling Shad Raps (sr5) at 2 mph and night crawlers at 1 mph. Troll these baits over the deeper pools of water 6 to 12 ft deep. The night bite has been a little better than the day bite. Look for the Walleye to slowly start their migration back down the lakes over the next few weeks as the water warms.
Bass:
The water temperature is still a little cold for these fish. They are feeding good mid day as the sun warms the water a little. Look for pockets that get a lot of sun or red clay banks. The worm bite has turned on. Try using a water melon pumpkin color working it slowly off the banks. The jerk bait bite has also been producing some nice Large Mouth. Looks for these fish to start spawning over the next few weeks. The top water bite will be good thru the first of May.
Trout:
With the vast stocking of trout this year these fish are everywhere! Most of the younger trout are still in the creek and river channels ( less than 5 ft deep). Try using a small Duo Realis in the Herring color. This bait has been a trout magnet lately. The bigger Brown Trout are cruising the main lake channel close to the floating debris. We have been sight casting small Kastmaster spoons to these fish. The trout should hold on this pattern for the next few weeks.
Good Luck!

Brown Trout:
The mass of the Brown Trout population are still holding in the creek channels. We have been trolling night crawlers 1mph on free lines the last couple of days and producing some really nice fish. Try targeting the 16 to 25 ft depths. These fish should hold this pattern for the next few weeks if the water temperatures don’t rise rapidly.
Bass:
The Spotted bass bite is unreal! These fish are really aggressive right now and will eat just about anything from a jerk bait to a plastic worm. Most of the Spots we are catching have been shallow
(5 to 8 ft). The Spotted Bass should be spawning spawning over the next few weeks. Look for these fish to stay shallow The Large Mouth bite has really picked up also. We have been catching most of the LM on Jerk baits in a bream color. Fish these lures close to the banks around fallen trees or over rock outcroppings. Look for these fish to gorge themselves before the spawn.
Walleye
The Walleye spawn is in full force. Most of the population are up the creek and river channels. Trying to catch spawning Walleye can be a little tough so try target the pre spawn or post spawn fish by moving down the river/ creek channels a few hundred yards. These fish are biting a Shad Rap ( American Shad ) trolled or casted around the rocks. Work this bait very slow as Walleye are not aggressive like other species of fish. We have caught a few bigger fish on a white jerk bait
( Spro- Mc Stick). The next few weeks should be the best of the year for catching Walleye in Georgia! Hopefully we will see some lucky angler break the State Record this year!
Thanks
