Fishing Reports

Lake Burton Fishing Report Water Temp: 81deg Clarity: Clear Lake Level: Full Bass The Bass bite has been really good lately. Not as many big fish but lots of numbers. The Large Mouth are still biting frogs well in the morning in and around docks. The Zoom Horny Toad seems to be working best. The Spotted Bass bite has been decent mid way back in the creeks near the Herring Schools. The Berkley Magic Swimmer (Silver) has been producing some nice fish in the 3-4lbs range. Look for this bite to pick up in the next few weeks. Most of these fish are chasing Herring Schools up and down the channel’s of the creeks. Brown Trout The Trout bite has been slow the last couple of days. The bite should continue to get better as we head into July. July is a good month for trolling shad raps SR5 and SR7 in bright colors 3mph. The best bite is early in the morning and late in the evening.

Bass: Most of the bass have finished spawning. The bite has been great over the last few days. We have been catching a lot of fish on top water Frogs, and Sammy’s in the morning in pockets off the main lake channel. Midday the jerk bait bite has picked up in the creeks around brush and rock ledges. Most of the Spotted Bass and Large Mouths are hanging in the 6ft to 15ft of water range. We have lots of Herring starting to spawn on the sea walls. Look for these bait fish and cast in and around them with your jerk bait. White smaller jerk baits have been working best. Bass

The Bass bite has been good the last day or two. We are in a normal winter pattern. The spoon bite has been the most consistent bite lately 28 to 35 ft bottom in the middle of the creeks. We have had a lot of rain the last couple of weeks. This has warmed the water temps a little. Most of the creeks have been stained from this rainfall. There has been a significant amount of floating debris. We have caught some surfacing fish in and around this floating debris on top water baits like  Spro Sashimmy 125 white. This pattern should continue for the next few weeks. Look for the water levels to continue to raise with the heavy rainfalls. Be careful of floating logs. Some of these are submerged.
Brown Trout

The bite has been a little slow lately. We have caught a few decent fish on the main lake channel mid lake. Look for surfacing action around the floating debris. These trout are feeding on the live bait in and on the floating logs grass etc. The Brown Trout bite should continue to get better as we head towards February. Jerk baits casted around the banks and brush will be the go to technique soon!
Good Luck!

Lake Burton Fishing

The summer bite has been steady. Most of the bass are over deeper water now that the water temps have risen. Drop shot has been the ticket the last couple of days. We have been targeting Brush piles off main lake points and ledges. These areas have produced the biggest fish this past week. The LargeMouth have been biting early morning in the back of the creeks and pockets. We have been throwing White Zoom frogs working them slow.

Brown Trout

The Trolling bite has been decent the last week or so. Small Pens Minnow Jerk baits Herring color have been working best. Most of our fish have been caught in the 25ft depth range at 3mph. Look for this bite to pick up as we head into late summer.

Yellow Perch

The Perch bite has been on fire lately. Most of the population has been schooled up on a 20ft bottom near grass and brush. Small flukes weighted with a split shot have been working best.

Lake Burton Fishing

The Bass fishing has been great lately. The water has started to turn over and the fish have begun to pull up shallow. Look for the bait schools they are all over the lake. The top water bite has begun as well. We have caught most of our fish on a 15ft to 18ft bottom. Look for the bite to get better as we near October.

Lake Burton Fishing Report Water Temp: 79deg Water Clarity : clear Water Level : full Bass The bass bite has been great in the morning and a little slow in the afternoon. We have been catching most of our fish on and underspin tipped with a paddle tail in the backs of creeks over the grass. We have had some bigger fish come off a River 2 Sea Whopper Plopper 90. This bite had been really strong between 8-10am. Look for the grass midway back in the creeks in 16to 20ft of water. Most of these areas are holding good fish! This bite should continue over the next few weeks. Trout The Brown Trout bite has been a little slow the last week or so. The few we have caught have been on small minnows weighted with a split shot. We have been targeting the main river channel. Early morning seems to be the better time This bite should pick up any day now as.we head towards the end of August. Perch The Yellow Perch bite is in fire. We have been catching good numbers in the creeks around grass and structure ( blow downs). Most of the fish seem to be in the 13 to 18ft depths. The Drop Shot technique has been working best. Small flukes or Robo Worms seen to work well. Look for this pattern to continue and get better as we progress the summer months. Good Luck!
